Report repairs in writing, and keep the proof.
For tenants in England. Log every repair with dates, see which timescales have passed, and send a request, a follow-up or a formal complaint.
What to know
- Since 27 October 2025, Awaab's Law makes social landlords meet fixed timescales for emergency hazards and significant damp and mould (Trowers, Shelter).
- Councils publish their timescales: damp and mould inspected within 10 working days, emergency hazards made safe within 24 hours (Runnymede, AICO).
- Awaab's Law will cover more hazards from October 2026 and 2027.
